Although the Democratic National Convention still has almost two full days to go, it has already managed to descend into a complete and utter farce.
From anti-Trump hysteria to hypocritical, brain-dead celebrities, to the embrace of extreme radical left-wing ideology, the 2016 DNC illustrates just how far removed from the concerns of normal, everyday folks the Democratic P:arty has become.
Nothing screams a concern for middle America as much as a panel discussion on the important topic of whether or not transgender men can get abortions.
Indeed, nothing screams a concern for middle America as much as a panel discussion on the important topic of whether or not transgender men can get abortions. That’s exactly what occurred at the DNC in an event hosted by The Atlantic entitled “Young Women Rising: America’s Next Top Voter?”
When the panel was questioned about reproductive rights and men who identify as women — because evidently safe, legal access to abortion is a pressing issue for “women” who don’t have uteruses — actress Amber Tamblyn chimed in happily.
“I wouldn’t know any statistics on that but I would say that goes again with the same notion of community, and fighting for everyone together,” Tamblyn said. “That for me as a heterosexual white woman to talk about reproductive rights and sit on the board of directors for Planned Parenthood, I have to not just talk about my people. I have to talk about everybody,” she said.
“The fact that I don’t know [if men who identify as women are having their reproductive rights infringed upon], the fact that I don’t have an answer should tell you a lot about what I need to learn,” Tamblyn continued.
Indeed, the DNC has so far been a glaring reminder of the Democratic Party’s somewhat bizarre belief that entertainment celebrities are somehow uniquely qualified to discuss the important sociopolitical issues of the day.
“Hillary knows that access and opportunity are the American promise. Not transphobia, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and systemic racism,” said living embodiment of everything wrong with modern feminism, Lena Dunham.
Dunham appeared with America Ferrara, a B-list TV actress who, as the daughter of Hispanic immigrants who named her after this country, is an obvious darling of the Left.
Dunham and Ferrara’s performance made clear the Democrats have no serious intent on debating the GOP or Trump’s ideas, but will instead cry big bad hateful wolf. “According to Donald Trump, I’m probably a rapist,” Ferrara said.
The most galling statement, however, came from Dunham. “I am a pro-choice, feminist, sexual assault survivor with a chronic reproductive illness … His rhetoric about women takes us back to a time when we were meant to be beautiful and silent,” Dunham claimed. “Meanwhile, 22 years ago, Hillary Clinton declared that women’s rights are human rights,” she continued.
The 2016 DNC, ladies and gentlemen: in which a woman who joked in her autobiography about molesting her own little sister claims to be a sexual assault survivor while praising a woman who defended a child rapist in court and spent a lifetime silencing her husband’s sexual assault victims as a champion of women.
In addition to putting a premium on celebrities spewing asinine nonsense, the DNC made sure to pander aggressively to every possible interest group on their progressive planet — other than white males, obviously.
Indeed, the DNC’s social justice stage props have included everything from an 11-year-old girl and her illegal-alien mother, to the mothers of young black men killed by police, to a disabled woman in a wheelchair, and even a dwarf. On Thursday the DNC — which has decided to do away with single-sex bathrooms because apparently the desire for privacy and comfort is a form of bigotry — will feature the first transgender person to address a national convention.
The Democrats’ politically correct pandering has become so palpable it reaches the level of parody.
Remember how Obama and Holder tried to suppress the tape of Michael Brown’s violent robbery before his shooting? Here’s another problematic little revelation that just had to be covered up.
The police detectives who investigated the death of Freddie Gray were told that he had a history of participating in “crash-for-cash” schemes — injuring himself in law enforcement settings to collect settlements — but were advised by a state prosecutor not to pursue the information, according to defense attorneys for the six officers charged in Gray’s arrest and death.
The defense attorneys said in a court motion Thursday that Assistant State’s Attorney Janice Bledsoe told police investigators working the case in its early stages not to “do the defense attorneys’ jobs for them” by pursuing information they had about such schemes and evidence that Gray “intentionally injured himself at the Baltimore City Detention Center.”
Shouldn’t their job have involved determining what actually happened?
Why bother investigating reports that the poor victim had a history of deliberately injuring himself around law enforcement for profit? Let’s just pretend that the evil cops deliberately wanted to hurt him, because some of them being black, they were just that racist.
This is a ridiculous level of corruption all constructed to cover up the abuses of a Democratic administration that decided to sign off on race riots (Space to Destroy) in order to back Obama’s destructive agenda for America.
Perversely though the failure to investigate this made it inevitable that it would find its way to the defense lawyers, they are representing cops after all, where it would be used to show bad faith.
Gray, 25, died after sustaining a severe spinal cord injury in the back of a police transport van. His death in April sparked widespread protests against police brutality. On the day of his funeral, rioters clashed with police, looted businesses and burned buildings.
Questions about his injury remain. Some say he could have injured himself. Others say police might have subjected him to a “rough ride” in the back of the van. Neither theory has been proved.
Suddenly there’s an important piece of the puzzle explaining why Gray might have wanted to hurt himself.
The defense attorneys argued that her alleged statement “would seem to indicate some level of knowledge that exculpatory evidence exists which could benefit the officers charged in Mr. Gray’s death and that the prosecutor did not want this information uncovered by investigators.”
This is what justice under Obama looks like. Freeing drug dealers and locking up cops.
The label of radical Islamic terrorism has become a political football, even in the wake of the attack in Orlando that left 50 people dead. Regardless of political posturing, 91 Americans have been killed in the United States by perpetrators motivated by radicalized Islamic beliefs since Obama assumed the office of the Presidency.
Here is a grim history of the last seven years of Islamist attacks of American soil.
1. Little Rock, Arkansas (2009)
The victims: 1 U.S. soldier killed, 1 injured
The killer: Born Carlos Bledsoe in Tennessee, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad converted to Islam as a teenager. He shot and killed a soldier out side of a recruiting center. Reportedly, Muhammad was angry about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and how the United States had treated Muslims.
2. Ft. Hood, Texas (2009)
The victims: 12 were killed and 31 were wounded. The victims were all military personnel, except for 2 civilians.
The killer: Major Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, opened fire inside the medical center at Ft. Hood. He was reportedly upset about an upcoming deployment to Iraq. Later, in 2014, Hasan petitioned to become a citizen of the Islamic State.
3. Boston, Massachusetts (2013)
The victims: 3 people were killed, including a young child. More than 100 people were injured, some requiring limb amputations.
The killers: Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were brothers. By all accounts, Dzhokhar was an average American college student before falling under the influence of his older brother, Tamerlan, and becoming radicalized. Tamerlan was shot by police and Dzhokhar was found after a massive manhunt. He was sentenced to death and is currently in prison.
4. Richmond, California (2013)
The victim: Daniel Stone, a hardware store employee.
The killer: Daymond Agnew, a 34-year-old California resident. Agnew entered the hardware store and spray painted his face before stabbing Stone 17 times. He claimed that Allah had told him to do it.
5. Seattle, Washington and West Orange, New Jersey (2014)
The victims: Brendan Tevlin, who was shot at a traffic light. Ahmed Said and Dwone Anderson-Young, gay men who were lured from a club and shot. Leroy Henderson, also shot dead.
The killer: Ali Muhammad Brown, the killer of 4 men in 2 states, is a self-proclaimed ISIS supporter. He was the first person to be charged under New Jersey’s 9/11 terror laws. He explained the killings as retribution for Muslim deaths in the Middle East.
6. Moore, Oklahoma (2014)
The victim: Colleen Hufford was decapitated at the food plant where she worked.
The killer: Alton Nolen converted to Islam and filled his Facebook feed with angry statements about Americans, women, and Judgement Day.
The victim: John Bailey Clark was robbed, shot, and buried in a shallow grave near his home.
The killer: Teenager and ISIS supporter murdered and robbed his 74 year old neighbor. He hoped to use the stolen money to purchase an assault rifle and carry out more attacks.
8. Chattanooga, Tennessee (2015)
The victims: 5 U.S. service members were killed, 4 Marines and a Navy officer.
The killer: Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez opened fire at a recruitment center in a strip mall before driving to a Naval support center to continue his rampage.
9. San Bernardino, California (2015)
The victims: 14 people were killed and 22 injured while they enjoyed a county employees holiday party.
The killers: Couple Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik assembled an arsenal of weapons and plotted for almost a year before they were married. Farouk was an American, Malik was from Pakistan. Both were shot dead by police.
10. Orlando, Florida (2016)
The victims: 49 people were killed and 53 more were injured at a popular LGBT nightclub in Orlando. The club was hosting a Latin night.
The killer: Omar Mateen was born in the U.S. to Afghan parents. Family and acquaintances say he didn’t seem particularly devout, but his father claims he was enraged by the sight of two men kissing. Mateen was killed by police. His attack was the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
The total death toll from these attacks is 91.
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas — As interested observers, most Texans are probably trying to remain objective while watching the back-and-forth of political campaigns in the early stages of spring. Last week, however, the tactics by one of the campaigns for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate crossed the line from tough campaigning, into a realm of a behavior most will discern as unworthy of someone they’d want to have representing Texas.
In a charge quickly-proven as inaccurate, the accusation appeared in a blog post written by Ben Shapiro of Big Government that Texas’ Lt. Governor & Senate candidate David Dewhurst had held a Washington, D.C. fundraiser at the home of “Obama cronies.”
The truth was, in fact, something quite other than that. An updated story from Shapiro himself later cleared up the confusion and proved the charges false. The “meet & greet” reception was not a fundraiser of any sort – and rather than being hosted by “Obama cronies,” was organized solely by Republicans, including many who worked in President George W. Bush’s Administration.
In a series of web advertisements, Ted Cruz and his campaign ran with the unsubstantiated rumor, compounding the lie by attempting to link Texas’ Lt. Governor to the Obama Administration based upon a Republican Meet & Greet being held at town home owned by a bi-partisan lobby firm.
The phrase to describe any campaign’s gross misrepresentation of the facts, in Texas terms is, “that dog just won’t hunt.”
What Tea Party members in Texas and across the nation are sick of, is politicians who put their own personal advancement ahead of the welfare of the United States. Not only do actions speak louder than words, they are what is required given the brevity of the country’s current economic situation.
By resorting to false, malicious & too-often self-serving attacks on their opponents, the Ted Cruz camp (and others too) diminishes their own credibility … amongst other leaders, the press, donors, and most importantly the voters of Texas at large. (If you believe what we have been hearing the past month or so, this is the just latest in a pattern of mis-steps by the Cruz Campaign.)
While Ted Cruz has, to date, capitalized on a blossoming legal career to cast himself as a fighter, which undoubtedly is true given his personal story, many are just now learning Cruz is a partner at a high-powered law firm with a history of contributing 100’s of $1,000’s of dollars to Democrats such as the Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Democratic National Congressional Committee’s campaigns.
Ted Cruz was hired as a partner Morgan Lewis & Bockius in 2008, during the presidential election in which Barack Obama became president. Morgan Lewis & Bockius made contributions totaling over $200,000 in support of Obama’s campaigns for President, as well as $750,000 to Democrats since Cruz became a partner.
Texans want a Senator who will fight the liberal Obama Agenda that‘s destroying our country – and does it based upon a previous record of experience, service & accomplishment, not upon dragging others down in order to build themselves up.
At 2:30 p.m., I arrived at the Donald Trump rally located at the UIC pavilion in Chicago, IL. There was light police presence at the Blue Line station, and the pavilion was short walk away. There I waited in line for about an hour until making it to the front doors, going through a security scanner, and finding a seat in the main hall.
For nearly two hours the pavilion filled until it neared capacity. It was clear that protesters were seated around the room, given easily away by their manner of dress. Most of the Trump supporters, being suburbanite or small town white people from outside of Chicago, were dressed strikingly normal—jeans and t-shirts, yoga pants or dresses, and the occasional suit.
The first protestors began around 5:30 when two young white males pulled off their coats to reveal t-shirts with anti-Trump slogans. At this point I noticed the police presence inside the rally was a mere 8 police officers, bolstered with hands-off event staff.
Before 6:00 p.m., a man spoke on the microphone and requested that rally attendees do not touch or harm protesters who interrupt the event. He reminded the protesters that Donald Trump supports the first amendment as much as the second.
Following this was a string of smaller incidents, such as people holding up improvised signs and shouting.
- One entire bleacher row was filled with protesters and they began chanting and throwing around torn up signs.
- A few people who began standing up and screaming, and were slowly escorted out by police. The police kept leaving the protesters unattended throughout this, taking 4-8 officers to escort protesters out one at a time.
- A black man in a black jacket ran up to the front stage, bumped into the podium, and attempted to speak, but was wrestled down by two men in suits. As they escorted him through the crowd, he took a swing at a Trump supporter. The men escorting him were incredibly gentle and restrained themselves from using any force.
Then voice came on and declared that the event was postponed. A few minutes later, they informed us that Trump had landed in Chicago and spoken to Chicago Police officers, and that due to safety concerns, the rally was canceled.
At this point, the protesters began to descend into chaos. Aside from a few mild “TRUMP” and “USA” chants, the Trump supporters were mostly quiet and bewildered as the protesters began to scream, chant, and run around the main floor area in a huge pack, flipping off the rally attendees and swearing at them. There were a few tense altercations between the two groups, but from what I saw at this point, no violence.
The rally was instructed to leave the pavilion, and I have to admit, the Chicago Police messed up bad here.
We walked straight out of the building and into enormous packs of protesters screaming at us, with little police presence to protect the Trump supporters.
Following this, I wandered the protest grounds to see what was going on. My memory is a bit jumbled at this point because I was so pumped up, but let me string together the events as clearly as possible:
- Many of Trump propaganda signs, most commonly depicting him as Adolf Hitler, but others showing him with a small penis, simple signs of text English and Spanish, signs.
- Young women shouting anti-white racial epithets.
- “THE PEOPLE ARE UNITED. WE WILL NOT BE DIVIDED” being shouted at Trump supporters who holed themselves up in a parking garage, quietly fearing for their safety. Another good one by the protesters was “FREEDOM FIRST! FREEDOM FIRST!” Strangely enough, there were a good amount of signs calling for peace and freedom. Lots of peace signs being flashed with the fingers.
- A single white Trump supporter who held up a sign and stood quietly as three dozen people surrounded him, smiling and screaming, snatching and pushing at him until he had to run for police cover. Someone grabbed his American flag and threw it on the ground and he fought to recover it. The police escorted him away.
- Two young men, perhaps 17-19, standing quietly as they waited for a ride home. They were wearing their MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN hats, looking terrified as people cursed and swore at them, and occasionally threw furious challenges for debate. The two young men held their ground. Only once did one of those hats come down, and it quickly went back on again.
- A general atmosphere of pleasure and happiness from the protesters. A common chant was “WE WON!” and “WE STOPPED* TRUMP!” It honestly felt like a social event for the protesters. There was plenty of mingling
- Plenty of shouts at Trump protesters that Trump and his supporters are not welcome in Chicago. I challenged one on the first amendment. He said he does not consider himself an American and continued insulting the grizzled old white man he was arguing with.
- Extremely inefficient police presence. The cops were lined up on their horses or standing behind barricades, but generally were not present where Trump supporters were being hounded and occasionally struck by protesters.
- The protesters were primarily composed of millennial-aged: white hipsters, African Americans, Hispanics, and Muslims. Some of the protesters were teenagers below voting age.
- The protesters flew a big set of American, Mexican, and Puerto Rican flags. There were lots of small American and Mexican flags too. *The Trump supporters mostly fled for safety immediately. You have to understand, they were outnumbered by thousands of protesters.
- There was media presence, but not as much as you’d think. Plenty of areas where chaos was going on had no media nearby. The reporters were mostly getting people to talk to them off to the side where nothing was going on, or focusing ongoing debates between Trump supporters and rally members.
- A small amount of the protesters were smoking weed. (I have nothing against this personally, just included for accuracy.)
- Plenty of chants for “BERNIE! BERNIE! BERNIE!” Some Trump supporters looked at each other in bewilderment. “But Bernie Sanders isn’t even running against Donald Trump,” was the common sentiment.
- Edit: The Trump supporters had a general trust for the police, while the protesters saw their presence as antagonistic. This is especially interesting to me, because as a foreigner and person of color I am generally afraid of police.
Obviously I did not see everything that occurred as I wandered the protest grounds outside the cancelled Chicago rally. What I did see, however, was fear. Fear from the rally attendees for their immediate safety, and fear of Donald Trump from the protesters.
More than that, I feel that I experienced today, for the first time in my life, true totalitarianism and authoritarianism, expressed laterally from citizen to citizen, in order to silence opinions from being shared. This enforcement was shared through sheer numbers and intimidation, and in a few cases, violence.
People brought their children, loved ones, and friends to attend the Trump rally. I saw an older Asian man and his white wife in attendance, and the looks on their faces when the rally was declared cancelled almost broke my heart. I saw scared children clinging to their parents’ sides as they exited the building to the screams of protesters. I saw a quiet, but excited crowd of Donald Trump supporters get thrown out of Chicago.
Worst of all, I saw the first amendment trampled, spit on, and discarded like trash.
This cannot go on. As I finish this, I feel a sense of utter dread and hopelessness for what is becoming of the youth in this country, particularly those of the regressive left. So polarized has political opinion become, that dissenting thoughts on college campuses are now seen as hateful. These people deal in absolutes. They are right, and whatever means they must take to achieve their ends, they will do it. They will not stop themselves from violence or censorship. They will do it, and they will call hell down upon you if anyone dare does upon them the same.
Tonight I went to the Trump Rally to hear the thoughts of not only the man who was supposed to come and speak, but the people who support him. I found respect. I found calmness. I found peace.
The truth is, I am a legal immigrant, not a US citizen. I am not American. I am not white. I cannot vote.
After tonight, I support Donald Trump.
Super Hat Bros FOUND! Personal friend of theirs speaks out
Thanks for the gold and all the kind comments. I hope you guys stay safe. Remember that the best way to make America great again isn’t just voting, but making yourself great too. That goes to anyone who reads this, regardless of who you support or what you believe.
Nearly 60 percent of illegal immigrants identified by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as criminal threats are not deported and are eventually released, the latest example of the Obama administration’s failed immigration policy.
Internal ICE figures show that in fiscal 2015, the agency encountered 152,393 illegal immigrants labeled a criminal threat, mostly in jails, but charged 64,116. About another 88,000 were not processed for deportation, according to the Center for Immigration Studies’ Jessica Vaughan.
The numbers are even worse for those who ICE asks local police and sheriffs to detain but never collect.
Under Obama’s recently announced Priority Enforcement Program, officials work with local police to arrest and deport criminal immigrants. In reality, that amounts to a phone call from ICE requesting local authorities hold the suspect for 48 hours after they’re set to be freed.
But several sheriffs from around the country say that just 35-40 percent of those held are ever seized by ICE, even after they’ve been released.
Richard W. Stanek, sheriff of Hennepin County in Minneapolis, said he had 75 illegals ICE wanted, but the agency only picked up about 35 percent. “And these are people that they want,” he told the Washington Examiner.
Susan Benton, sheriff of Florida’s Highlands County, said “mine would be much much lower.” Worse, she added, many are seized and sent to a federal facility in Miami and immediately released and return to her county.
It’s become a huge issue for local police. Benton said she wants to help ICE and hold illegal immigrants longer, but can’t legally. Often the result is more crime from the suspect and questions about why her department’s jail frees them.
“We’re the bad guys, we’re the ones CNN is on saying, ‘That sheriff left that killer out.'”
David J. Mahoney, sheriff of Dane County in Madison, Wis., said departments are less likely to comply with ICE requests because of the legal issues and a lack of support from the federal government.
“It’s kind of a, ‘Do me a favor and hold them for 48 hours or more.’ When in fact there is no legal standing to do that. ICE says ‘hold ’em, but we won’t defend you if you get sued.'”
Liberal Democrat warns TPP could end auto industry
The controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal between the U.S. and 11 other nations could spark a new wave of U.S. auto and auto parts makers fleeing to Mexico, a leading Democratic trade expert in the House is warning.
According to Michigan Rep. Sandy Levin, the result would be that Americans eventually may be forced to buy “TPP cars or trucks,” assembled in Mexico and largely made of Chinese parts.
Levin, the top Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee, came out in opposition to the deal last week. He said it includes no demands that Mexico let workers unionize or that it increase automaker wages above the $8-an-hour average.
His worry is that many more automakers will flee to cheaper Mexico, one of the countries in the trade pact. Levin said one Detroit company told him that closing a U.S. plant saves $300 million.
He’s also upset that the Obama trade deal would open the door to China flooding the car parts industry, resulting in cars built in Mexico with mostly Chinese parts, which are cheaper. The U.S. is the biggest importer of Mexican-made cars.
If the deal succeeds, Levin said every car from Mexico should come with this notice: “This model comes with job loss as standard equipment.”
Wage gap: ‘Average’ CEO salary less than one Hillary speech
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton’s charge that corporate CEOs earn 300 times more than their workers isn’t just wrong. It hides another very real wage gap: She earns more in just one speech than the average American CEO in a year.
Mark J. Perry, a University of Michigan professor and author of the American Enterprise Institute’s popular Carpe Diem blog, did the fact-checking of Clinton’s numbers and came up with that result.
The average CEO, using Bureau of Labor Statistics figures, makes $216,100. On the stump, Clinton’s agent, the Harry Walker Agency Inc., charged $275,000 a speech and packaged three for Wall Street’s Goldman Sachs at $675,000.
Perry used the BLS average salary for all CEOs, not just the top ones Clinton likes to cite. He also found that the average worker salary is $48,920, about what it was in 2009. That translates into an apples-to-apples wage gap of 4.4-to-1.
